The Matsya Sathi app, developed by the Aqua Doctor Solutions, launched in 23rd March 2025 in Kajla Jana Kalayan Samity – Contai, East Midnapore, West Bengal. Matsya Sathi App launched by 10 Fisher Womens of Upokulia Matsyajbi Samabay Samity Members who are directly involved in Fish Farmin activities. This program was Chaired by Dr N.N.Dutta, CEO, Technology Innovation Hub, IIT Guwahati, Mr Kapil Goenka, Co-Founder, Mr Swapan Jana, Dr Debtanu Barman, Founder of Aqua Doctor Solutions also present along with 100 Fish farmers, entrepreneurs, media person also grace the program. On that day, Aqua Doctor Solutions Common Service Centre also inaugurated to provide all kind of services under one roof and to facilate Aqua Lab facilities in this region. Matsya Sathi App is a Digital Platform to educate & empowered Aqua farmers on the latest aquaculture technologies. The app offers species-wise and subject-wise self-learning online course modules, featuring video lectures and practical demonstrations on breeding, seed production, and culture techniques for commercially important fish species such as carp, catfish, scampi, ornamental fish, and crab farming etc. It also provides guidance on better management practices, including maintaining soil and water quality, feeding, and health management in aquaculture operations & besides it is also providing Doctors on call services and business loan, farm loan & KCC loan etc through one window facility centre. An upgraded version, Matsya Sathi, is in development to further support inland fisheries trade & market linkages. This enhanced app aims to bring various stakeholders—farmers, wholesale buyers, suppliers of feed and equipment—onto a single digital platform, facilitating the sharing of information on market prices and product availability based on Aquaculture Zone specific areas. By streamlining communication and trade within the fisheries value chain, Matsya Sathi is expected to boost the freshwater fisheries sector significantly. ​ The introduction and evolution of the Matsya Sathi app series are anticipated to have a profound impact on the fisheries and aquaculture sector in India.
